The WPFL Announces Partnership with AAU, and Nitro Sports

Hurst, TX – The Women’s professional Football League announced yesterday that they have formed a partnership with the nationally renowned Amateur Athletic Association, and Nitro Sports. The trio will work to form a girls youth football league sponsored by all three entities.

The WPFL, which is entering its seventh season of nationally recognized women’s full contact-tackle football, will join the ranks of such known women’s sports leagues as the WNBA in working with the AAU.

“We are excited to be entering into a partnership with AAU and working cohesively in developing a girls youth football program” Stated WPFL Executive Director, Dawn Berndt. “Our teams are approached by hundreds of girls each season that want to play tackle football in a league specifically designed for them. With the knowledge of the AAU and the Nitro Athletic Programs, and our experience of women’s professional football, we know we will put together a top notch program” added Berndt.

“This partnership with the WPFL was a unanimous decision” Stated Ron Dolar, CEO of the Nitro Athletic Programs.
