WPFL Announces Partnership with NPF Hurst, TX – The Women’s Professional Football League announced a promotional partnership with National Pro Fast Pitch today, marking the first time two mainstream women’s professional team sports leagues have partnered. The NPF currently is home to seven team’s nation wide, and has a developmental partnership with the Major Baseball League. Both leagues are the innovators for their sports. The WPFL was founded in 1999, and the NPF, was originally founded in 1997. “This will be a great promotion for both leagues” Stated NPF President, Bill Conroy. “Our overall goal is to broaden the visibility that women are taking the world of professional team sports to the next level” Stated WPFL Executive Director, Dawn Berndt. “For both leagues, we want all of our fans to know that our games are as competitive as the NFL and MLB games” Added Berndt The NPF will start their 2005 season in June, and the WPFL season kicks off the end of July.
