The Texas Showdown in Women's Pro Football

Houston, TX – (August 24, 2005) The Texas Showdown between two of the Women’s Professional Football League’s (WPFL) elite teams is drawing near. The thrice-crowned world champion, Houston Energy, will host the 2004 champion, Dallas Diamonds, in its 2005 season home opener. Guaranteeing a Texas-style match of unbridled rivalry and competition, the Energy organization is allowing all fans free admission to the game.

On August 27, 2005, at 7 p.m., Skip Lee Field will be the setting of this auspicious event. The field is located at 3356 W. Alabama. “This is the first time any team in the WPFL has offered a free game to its fans,” commented Stacy Agee, Houston Energy President. “Houston sports fans are in for a treat.” Tickets for the game are available by contacting the Energy office or any member of the Energy organization. On game day, any fan arriving without a ticket will be allowed entry on a space available basis. Season and single ticket holders will be seated in a reserved VIP section.

”The tone has been set by previous competitions between these two teams,” stated Brian Wiggins. “The intensity and mental toughness from the first play will determine the victor. The Energy is primed and ready for this showdown!”
