Voting for the 2007 All Pro coaching staff will be calculated by 25% player votes and 75% coaching votes. All votes will be due October 31st, 5 PM CST.
"We will have a very precise voting system this season" Stated All Pro committee member, Mark Ring.
"We made history last season hosting the very first women's pro football All Pro game in America last season" Stated Committee Chair Dawn Berndt. "Now we plan to raise the bar on the voting as well as the entire event" Added Berndt.
In addition, the committee announced that any team in bad standing will not be eligible to submit stats, player or coach votes for any All Pro selection.
The best professional female football players are selected from WPFL teams across the nation and play in an AFC versus NFC match up similar to the NFL's Pro Bowl game.
The second annual All Pro Game will be held on December 2nd in the same city as the 2007 WPFL Championship game, which will be held this season at the home of the American Conference Champion. As of to date the final location contenders are between Rochester, New York, Los Angeles California, and San Diego, California.
In June 2005, Toledo Reign Head Coach, Mitchi Collette was invited to be a Guest Coach at the St. Louis Rams NFL Youth Football Camp hosted by Andy McCullum, #63 of the St. Louis Rams, Sports International and Football America.
In May 2006, Coach Collette was asked to return as a Guest Coach. This time, she was asked to coach at the Philadelphia Eagles instead of the Rams. The Philadelphia Eagles NFL Youth Football Camp was hosted by Linebacker, #55 Dhani Jones, Sports International and Football America. At the Eagles camp, Coach Collette worked with the 8-11 year old Defensive Linemen. She was also the Defensive Coordinator for scrimmages.
Now for the third consecutive year Coach Collette has been invited back. In June she will again be with the St. Louis Rams and then in July with the 2006 NFL National Conference Champions, the Chicago Bears.
"When I walked into the first coaches meeting, I was a little skeptical on how they would react to me being a female coach. I did get some heads turning and overheard somebody say that I might be in the wrong room until I told them what I do. I guess I started talking football and that's all it took" Stated Collette. "It has been a phenomenal experience, and I am honored to be invited back" added Collette.
