Indiana Speed 16 - Minnesota Vixen 0

Aug 18 - With their new motto: Everything to gain and nothing to lose, Cassie Longcore made a solid debut as quarterback for the Indiana Speed, connecting on 7 of 18 passes for 64 yds, the highlight being a 17 yd touchdown pass to Nicole Pilkington. She also had a two point conversion toss to April Proffitt.

The Speeds' other score came on a 17 yard scamper by Molly 'Mac' McKeown off the right side. Again the Speed converted a two point try up the middle by Cayla Messinger. Cayla Messinger led the Speed with 71 yds on 17 carries, not bad for her first game as a feature back.

The Speed defense posted a dominating shut-out of the Vixen led by defensive tackle Ashley 'Goodyear' Johnson with 12 tackles. The Speed wreaked havoc on the Vixen offense causing multiple fumbles and interceptions. Ashley was backed up by equally good performances from Ellen 'Taz' Biesel with 7 tackles and Molly 'Mac' McKeown with 8 tackles.

The Vixen struggled against the powerful Speed defense only putting up a total of 96 yards. #33, Sara Schoen was the defensive highlight with 6 tackles.

The Indiana Speed take on their biggest division rival, Wisconsin Wolves next Saturday, August 25 in Wisconsin.
